OUR STORY
KEEP was created as a sister company to Mackit Architecture - formed after 15+ years experience in design and construction. After a decade offering our bespoke design service, we knew that it inherently comes with budget uncertainties.
As our bespoke designs had never been built before, we used our extensive industry knowledge and expertise to make informed, budget-conscious design choices.
However, to achieve certainty around whether their design could be achieved for their fixed budget, clients needed to invest time and money into the design process in order to get accurate pricing.
As we saw the rapid rise in building costs push project estimates higher month to month, it became clear that bespoke design was becoming a risky exercise for clients with a fixed budget.
We wanted to give our clients the homes they desired, within their budget. We knew we couldn't control the rising price of building, but we could adapt the way we design for clients who want an architecturally designed, well built home, on a fixed budget.
So we created a series of designs to meet a range of criteria - beautiful, highly specified and detailed, high performing, suitable for a range of sites.
We then worked with local builders and suppliers to get accurate price guides on these designs - so that clients knew before they even spent a cent, whether they could be achieved for their budget.
This fresh approach is different to the bespoke design process we offer through Mackit Architecture - which still has its place for clients with more flexible budgets.
However, this new approach needs to have it's own identity, it's own values and ideals. The industry is changing, and we're expanding to keep up with it - with Keep. A way to achieve your biggest investment, that will last as long as you want it.

Keep is a fresh approach to the traditional bespoke design process. We offer a range of architectural house plans for clients who wish to have a well designed and built home that meets their fixed budget.
This also means a reduced time investment than a traditional bespoke design process. Keep homes are modern, enduring and beautiful spaces to live in. They are also high performing, and Homestar Rated.

We've designed and costed the plans so that you can determine whether your fixed budget will achieve your requirements without an upfront investment of both time and money. We've also designed our plans so that there is minimal material wastage, clever use of space and materials - so that you can achieve the most for your budget.

Our sleek, modern designs focus on a visual hierarchy of forms. They may look simple, but the simplest designs often take the most skill to achieve. Spaces are carefully thought and planned to be conducive to modern, flexible living. Materials are selected for both aesthetic and practical reasons. And a few clever, innovative touches along the way will delight you.
HIGH PERFORMANCE
As Homestar Assessors, we have a thorough understanding of construction techniques that will maximise performance. Our unique pile foundation allows for easy repairs and maintenance (great in EQ zones). Thick wall framing, high level insulation, and a Rigid Air Barrier all contribute towards a healthy home that is comfortable year round with minimal heating and cooling required.
Homes are a Homestar Rated 6 as a minimum, but this can be increased if desired.
